'92 Corolla Speedometer cable question.
I have been beset with a "clicking" sound coming from the dash/firewall area of my car. The clicking usually starts becoming noticable when I reach 35 - 40 mph, and then gets louder and more frequent as I reach 55 - 60 mph. Above 60, the sound gets drowned out by road noise, but you can still faintly hear it. Concensious is that it is my speedometer cable, which is fine with me if that is what it is. My question is, can the two-piece speedometer cable be lubricated or is it factory sealed, which means I might as well buy a new one? Anyone else have a similar problem? (Oh yeah, I did do a search on this forum, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.)
