is it worth it any more

Lately Ive been getting frustrated with the car, thinking about it and adding things up i just donno what to do:

needs engine $400 - 1000
needs transmission $300 - 700
needs body work and paint $400 - 600
something funky with the fr brakes $50 - 125

** All this is provided i do it aswell **

all im asking myself is whats next..... car has 230km

i seem to have really bad luck with it, just starting to piss me off.

i donno what to do, been looking at 03-05 Matrix, 02-03 Impreza TS, 99-03 Protege 5
like them, just alot of $$$$$$

about the only way to tell is find out what you can get for it the way it is. IF you can trade it and get a decent amount of money then it may be worth it. Obviously most people will tell you that it is not good to go into debt and all taht good stuff but if you are going to have to keep dumping money into it it may be time to get rid of it.
It sounds like there isnt much more to go wrong with unless you get some major electrical problems.
Obvioulsy whatever you get you want to make sure it is going to be dependable. I know most of the magiazines a d reports give the Matrix(basically a Corolla) and the Mazda good reviews. I am not sure what they say about the Impreza. I know when i was a mechanic I worked for Subaru dealer at one time and they were great cars. I have heard that their quality has dropped some though.

keep the car man! as long as it havn't died on you yet, then keep driving it! save some money and replace whats need to be replaced, a little at a time. how much is 230 km? i have a 94 dx and it has 160,000 miles on it and it runs good, gets about 310 miles on a full tank. keep the car as your winter beater, than when you get enough $$$, get a new car, keep the corolla history bro!

I'd say Matrix XRS.. you can come to the TN meets and park in the "rust free" parking zone.

I know im not part of that group. The Canadian government sent me a letter asking to drill for iron ore on my car. Now thats gotta tell you something.

The only problem with putting all that money into your car is that if anything else goes on it afterwards you will pretty much have to fix it since you've already put all that new stuff in it.

I would drive it until it dies and then part it out or take it to the junkyard.

Look at it this way - you COULD spend $2,000-$2,500 on the car................... but you would still be driving a 94 rolla with 230,000km. I would rather drop that cash down on a newer car where you know the body will hold out for a while.
