Engine & tranny swaps for an AllTrac Corolla

First, please dont flame me since im just starting my sleeper project and dont know nearly as much as I should about corollas yet.

I have an alltrac wagon that I would like to put quite a bit more power into. I also have a HUGE supply of MR2 and Celica parts (I work for Phoenix Motorsports). Some of the interesting parts are:

ST205 & ST185 Transaxels
Celica GenI 3S-GTE
Several 5S-FE engines and transmissions
Several 4AGZE engines & Transmissions (bellhousings compatible with E153 casings)

I will only do the project if I can retain 4WD so, these are the two options I see right now.
1 swap the entire trans and engine for a 3S and ST205 box with custom motor mounts/hybrid axles and driveshaft.
If that setup is too wide for the engine bay:
2 ST205 trans with the GZE bellhousing and GZE engine, again custom mounts axels etc..

Obviously I have lots of major parts on hand but I have a few questions for people who have messed with the older corollas. What is the final drive ratio of the rear axel? Are there any cross compatibilities with the front CV axels. In other words are there other cars / models that the axels are also used in/can be used from? Same question for the front hubs (I know the MR2 turbo axels have the same splines at the hub). The car is an 88.

Please keep your responses constructive.

I am looking to do a similar project with my Alltrac wagon. I'll post as the project goes forward.
