hesitation prbblem

I just got a 1988 Corolla FX. It has a problem where even after you let it warm up, when you press the accelerator like 1/2 way down it boggs down and stalls if you don't pump the gas pedal. Its an automatic transmission by the way. If you press it to the floor it has plenty of zip. Anyhow I replaced the fuel filter. It is my underatnding that the 2 barrel carburator needs to be rebuilt. Where can I get a rebuild kit for this. By the way I am in Newark, Ohio. Thank-yall.

70% of all carburetor problems are estimated not to be carburetor problems.
Have you done a tuneup? Checked you ignition wires and coil, timing?
If not try that first, it would not hurt, you just got the car.

Look down the carbs throat , if its dirty use some carb cleaner.

Mine was kinda doing the same thing for a little while, but it was because of bad gas in the system, from it sitting for so long. It couldn't hold an idle 1/2 the time. I would suggest contacting the person who sold you the car and ask maybe about that. Its somehting to consider, even after changing the filter, that can happen.. at least it still did to me, but I dont know, tons of things are wrong with my car right now as it seems.
