Hoping to get a little help?
I recently regained "control" of my 1988 Toyota Corolla, stick that I love to death. I had a bit of an accident about 2 1/2 years back, that set me and it apart. I blew up the engine, because the person who replaced the oil filter, let it a bit loose. Anyways, not the problem anymore.
I recently got it back and after 3 weeks, of dealing with the bad gas and terrible stench, it was starting to work ok.
Then while driving to work one day, the thing stalled out on me like it ran out of gas, and I was almost on E, so thats what I had assumed happened. The car would begin to slow down, no matter how hard i stepped on the gas, I would downshift, thinking maybe I just wasn't in the right gear, but the engine wouldn't rev. Nothing was happening. So I thought, hmm no gas, because Ive been known many a times to let the gas run out. Completely accidental, anyways. I put a gallon of gas in, it started back up fine, I was set. Wrong, after just a mile it started doing the same thing again, and unless I was running on fumes for like a week, there was no way that car could have ate the gas that quickly. I was furious, and upset. So I tried the same thing again, but now the car wouldn't turn over.
I had the car towed, and looked at, and I got it back alright, and after about an hour of driving it started to happen again. Its tearing me apart, because I just dont understand, the mechanic looked at some vac hoses, fixed all the battery stuff, and changed the fuel filter, and its still doing this.
If anyone could give insight as to what might be up, or if they've experienced this, and what happened.
My car is just at about 180000 miles, but its got a replaced engine, and i think the car that engine came out of was just short of 100000. Anything, from anyone.
Thanks,
Shana
