? to 93-97 onwers that switched to tach dash

I recently got very lucky and came across a wrecked 93 with the tach and got it for $50.Anyway my car will go roughly 350 miles on a tank but the gas gauage on this new dash is very pessimistic. After 100 miles i only show half a tank where with the non tach dash i still had 1/4 tank. After 200 miles i am showing 1/4 left although i still can go about 150 miles! My question is: the rest of you that have done the same are you having the same problem.I know this doesnt sound like a big deal but i just hate looking at the gas gauge and it showing i have way less than i do so now i just fill up more.If yall arent having the same problem any idea what i should look for to fix this?

in general my tach gas gauge (from factory) is a little silly, the accuracy seems a bit scewd it will go down from 1/4 to 1/2 in like 40km. See when the empty light comes on if its fairly accurate then i wouldn't worry to much about the gauge, don't forget the gauge is half the size of the no-tach gauge

Yeah, mines a bit weird as well. Stays at full for a while, then suddenly drops a lot. Also it goes all over the place when driving up and down hills.

I don't remember if my non-tach gauge did the same thing, but I don't find that it's a big deal.

when full tank, my 94 dx sometimes shows 200 miles when its half way, and then emptys out at the next 100 miles, so about 300 miles total on a full tank. It should be 400 miles to a tank when you consider that its 200 at half way, and i DO drive it normal, but dont know why its like this, o well, 300 miles is good enough for me i guess...

Nontach gauge is a little more normal--although still not really accurate--nontach->tach swap results in an inaccurate cluster just as you're describing. Drive it until the fuel light comes on, then it's honestly time to put in gas.
