99 corolla won't start after bumper cover work

My 99 corolla gave me problems these days.
I disconnected the negative terminal of bateray and changed the bumper cover 2 days ago. After the work, I started the engine and it started well. However I just let it idle for 5 seconds and shut it down.
Yesterday I tried to start my car, it cranked but failed to start. The ambient temperature is about 28 degree. The battery is 1 year old. I was thinking either my battery need charging or the spark plug is damped by feul during the failed crank. Is it a good idea to try to crank until warm temperature or I need to go to check my batteray right away. What else could I miss? I am a student and have low budget.
Please give advice.

Your battery sounds like its in good condition. But it sounds like theres no fuel going to the engine. If your only going to start your car for less than a minute, you should give it a bit of gas before shutting it off so there's fuel ready to get into the engine for next time. You can fix the problem by turning so the key is to the ON position for about 5 or 10 seconds. Do that about 3 or 4 times so the fuel pump can get fuel to the engine. Then try starting it. It'll take a bit onger than usual, but it should start after a while. Give it a try and post if it works or not!
