95 corolla won't start after fender bender

My wife rear-ended another vehicle this weekend after the snowstorm we had in Michigan. I have a cracked bumper, busted grill and slight crumple in the hood. The radiator and the support arm behind the headlights were pushed back slightly. Minor body work to get it back to shape. (the other car had a small scratch).

My problem is with starting the vehicle. It ran for a few minutes after the accident and then died. It will crank but won't turn over. I can smell fuel when I look over the engine. Any ideas. I am going to Murrays to borrow a code reader. I have found no information on whether there is a fuel cutoff switch in this car. I unhooked the battery before I left for work today, hopefully that helps. I guess there was a pretty good size puddle that the cars drove through. I am going to check the plugs today, also. Just thought I might throw out a bone and see if anyone has any suggestions or info.

Thanks
Jason

change my question

After going through the forum, I have found a bunch of stater issues. so i will roll up my sleeves and dig into it. My only questions goes back to if there is a fuel cutoff switch on this car?

Thanks again.

I don't recall hearing about fuel cutoff switches on these cars, it could be the starter but maybe there's more to it.

dont believe there is a fuel cut-off, also if its 95 its probably OBD 1 meaning you don't need a code reader just a wire!

The starter is behind the engine. Highly unlikely that it incurred damage.

Check motor mounts (they have a front mount) and passenger side (right side) engine clearance to chassis. Very small space, might have rubbed against it causing non-starting engine.
