I have the same car as you, but what is injector resistance? And is it in the manual, because I have one

USA

injector resistance is the resistance to current flow which in turn pulses the injector.
and yes it is manual and it is not stock at all.

you sure it's an 89? all 89 4afe's were carb'd. The 90 (with greytop injectors) has a flowrating of like 170cc/min and is high ohm.

if you're looking for some higher flowing injectors that are high ohm, go with a smallport 4age (greentop injectors). They work on the stock 4afe ecu just fine, and are 250cc/min.

if you're looking for higher than that, you'll probably have to go to like a 4agze injector with a resistor pack.

Actually my car is an '89 and it's EFI; it says so on the valve cover. And I believe my car has the green tops.

unless they've been swapped... i doubt you have smallport 4age greentop injectors - the early 4afe's have 170cc/min injectors..... the greentops are 250cc/min..... that's a large difference.... the 4afe (unless modded quite well) would be running rediculously rich

I can only tell you about whats sitting in my driveway right now. A 1989 Corolla Wagon SR5 4WD 5 speed. The injectors have green tops, and it runs fine. The only things I have done to it are a Ractive SRI a Cherry Bomb muffler, and Siverstar headlights. It has 181 000kms on the 4AFE 1.6L EFI 16V motor. What else can I say? I guess I could post pictures if you really need the proof

Not sure how much the reading change over the years, but I get 13 ohms when cold and 16 ohms after running the vehicle a while on my 98.

Is there any way you can take a couple of pics for me? I need a pic of the right hand kick panel without the kick panel cover the one by th clutch and aso a pic on the fuse block behind the passanger side kick panel aslo that would be greatly appricated.and I didnt mean to sound rude in my last reply to you but I built a custom engine it is no longe a 1.6 l it is a 1.8l 94 corolla engine in it. so i have some more diagnosing to do on what the real problem is with getting this car started.

thanks rob
