pls help. trying to change tranny fluid on a 89 all trac corolla wagon with 5 speed manual. what kind of fluid do you recommend and how much i have to fill? new to forum

Hey, your best bet is to shell-out the $15 for a Haynes manual. They have all of the lubricant specs and capacities, and their DIY instructions include pictures to make life easier. Make sure if you do buy one, it doesn't say "except 4WD models" on the cover.

Usually these cars use gear oil in the tranny, around 80W90 or so.

1989 corolla manuel problem

I was trying to buy a Haynes manual for this car but Haynes only has front wheel drive for the 1989 corolla manuel.


the only ones I found that closest on their US website were these:
92032 - Corolla all rear wheel drive models '80 thru '87
92035 - Corolla all front wheel drive models '84 thru '92
