Timing Belt on a 95' Corolla

The car only has 83K miles on it, is it time to replace the belt? If it is, how much would one expect to pay to replace it.

I am not technically inclined, so I will have to pay someone else to do it. Any recomendations on a place and a price to expect?

I think you're supposed to replace it at 60k or something like that, so yeah, it's about time. That said, plenty of people have run that engine past 200k miles without ever changing it. If it breaks it can't damage anything, it's a non-interference engine.

That said, it'll probably take a solid morning to change for a mechanic, so 4 hours x whatever the shop charges... it would be $100 at my shop. Then again, I have almost no overhead

No, that's probably just the car that's slow. I assume its automatic, and most likely you have NEVER had a tune up done.

uh.. nope. How much will that cost typically?

Is there a reputable site that lists some mechanics and prices or whatnot in my area?

It should be.

Check the belt out. See if it says Toyota in it.
