AE86 would a ae92 gts fuel sending unit work in a ae86?

Hello Everyone
I need a fuel sending unit for my ae86 but it is kinda hard to find one in my area i have found one from a ae92 gts and i have found one from a 79 corolla does anyone know if either of these would work for my ae86
any help is appreciated

hmmmm... its as easy as calling Toyota and cross referencing the part numbers to see if they're the same.

i checked the dealer already
the part numbers are different. The one for the ae86 goes up to july of 87
then it is a different one. Unfortunaltly I dont have my old ae86 one so i have nothing to compare it to i have a idea of what it looks like but not exact
the 79 corolla one look like it would work if i got it but the part number is different so something is different about it. just wondering if someone has modified the 79 corolla one or the ae92 one before to work for the ae86 since the ae86 one is 212 retail from the dealer
