different control arm????

I have a 1996 corolla 1.6 with 5 speed. My passenger side control arm was bent by the previous owner, so I ordered a new one. When I went to replace it I noticed it isn't the same... did some research and noticed the one on my car looks just like the ones on the 98-2002 corolla's.

Mine looks like this:

The one I bought, and is supposed to be on the 1993-1997 corolla's...look like this:

So does anyone know if it is safe to buy the one that is supposed to go on the 1998-2002 corolla's, since it looks like mine...or is there a third control arm that was used for some 96-98 corollas that looks like the 1998-2002 control arm, but has different dimensions?

Its hard to tell from thats photos, but just replace it with the same part. Double check it with the other side to be sure.
