Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I just purchased my 06 Corolla LE this weekend. I got them to install the fog lights and throw in a cargo net. My question is how do I get my remote that came with the car to chirp that the doors are closed and opened when I click the buttons. The only thing that happens is the lights flash when I click the lock or unlock button. Can this be done on a Corolla? I know the Camry and Highlander have the chirp.
Thanks for your feedback.
I think you have to install the security alarm to have the chirp sound. I just got 4 days ago a 2006 LE and it does exactly what you say flash the lights. My other car honks the horn after to presses of the lock, it's nice to have an audible reminder that your car is locked.
What did you pay, or what was the cost of the log lights. That's the only thing missing and I didn't see it on the accessories list so I didn't think to aks until I saw a picture of the S model later.
I made sure they included the fog lights on the car because it looked empty without them in my opinion. They wanted to charge me $150 with the labor at the time. I will try to get the horn to beep when I lock the doors at least. I'll ask my local mechanic if he can configure it.

Where is the switch to turn them on, on the light stalk like the "S" model? I agree that it looks like something is missing with out them. I'll drop by the dealer and see what they can do for me.
I just bought an 06 Corolla S, and to get it to chirp at me I had to follow the directions on an itty bitty little white booklet that came tucked in my manual case. You know the little red alarm cutoff switch under the lefthand panel? With the car off, push it in, then out. Turn the key on, then turn it off. Press the button in and out again three times (six pushes). You'll hear a beep. If you hear two beeps, that's it toggling back off again, so you're aiming for just one.

Edge, I have a 2003 LE with package 'B' on it...all the factory installed toys, leather, alarm, fogs and auto dimming mirror. The instructions you gave on gettng that 'chrip' working. I didn't get that white booklet. I didn't see that lefhand panel....can you show a pict on it ? I just have a 'security' LED light on the left side of my instruments...maybel I'm blind or something...
still silent arming and dis-arming.
thanxs Harvey.

thiz is what I just did to disable the beep on my 05 XRS. should be the way to go
If you anyone can post a picture of what the "red" button looks like, it would make things easier. I looked and could also not find it under the left hand panel. Thank again...

Same question here. I was thinking of instead using the space currently occupied by the change holder for some sort of switch. I never use that stupid thing anyway.
I read somewhere that the LE's do not have the foglight harness, can anyone confirm this to be true?

KP30 and Edge say that it was an option on the ninth generation LE models they have, but I have read posts here of LE owners wanting to know how to install fogs because it wasn't an option and just came on the S models ....Radd Guy...
Raddman, I am talking about the factory installed harness for the foglights. Neither of the posters above detailed whether the dealer used factory connections or ran a new harness. What I would like to know is if the above posters used the factory installed foglight harness for their fogs or if the dealers ran the wires direct.
