searched, cant find: 92 motor swap options

i just bought a 92 Corolla/Prizm with the 4A-FE. the problem is that it has 3 bent valves, which is cool because i got it for $50. however, i noticed there isnt much aftermarket support for the 4A-FE.
so, the question: what else fits in? i would assume the 3S-GTE would work with some minor mods and im sure the 4A-GE would drop in as well, but is there anything else thats works? im ready to get going on this project. any info would be mgreatly appreciated.

when you say major, how major is that? ive done extensive swaps on Nissan's and i am a mechanic if that helps. wiring doesnt scare, so what would it take to get a 3S in a Corolla? and i will search that AE92 swap too. thanks heaps.

Cut and weld engine mount. Cut hood to fit top mount IC or custom make FMIC. You can't use your stock tranny. 3S-GTE usually come with AWD tranny which you can't use unless you do full AWD conversion. If you get the Mr-2 turbo tranny, you'll need 5S-FE tranny parts to make it work in FWD. So a 5S-FE tranny will be easiest to find and use but its not design for such high HP. Then you'll need half axle to connect the tranny to your wheel hub. Of course you can try to swap complete wheel assembly from a Camry or Celica. If you do that, you should swap the rear so you get rear disc also. So if you can get a Mr-2 turbo clip, you'll get most of the parts.

wow...wont be doing a 3S swap then. how about a 4A-GZE? any special parts needed, or is it just a bolt in and rewire job?

i guess the bottom line is this: i want more power. at least 200whp. i would prefer something turbo, but i guess i could handle something supercharged. im a complete n00b to Toyota FWD swaps, so dont flame me too hard.

i guess maybe what i should have asked is what is the easier motor to drop in and use FI without having to do to much rebuilding/changing mounts, etc. any input greatly appreciated, especially links to How-To's.

you could drop the 4AGZE in your car.. then take the supercharger out and replace it with a turbocharger. A lot of people do the 4AGZE to 4AGTE conversion as the motor is already strengthened for boost.

Or just buy the GZ long block (why buy a supercharger when you're going to toss it), wrecking yard for the intake manifold and throttle body (GZ owners come with a 50mm TB while the easy to find NA comes with a 55mm) and other misc parts, then do a turbo. You'll need Megasquirt to fuel it properly (standalone). It'll get you your 200whp on a decent sized turbo and good tune.

why would you want the gze intake manifold and throttle body??? they're crap! the intake manifold is like comparing it to a log style turbo exhaust manifold.....

Exactly why I said a wrecking yard as N/A 4AGEs are easy to find. Looks I forgot to mention that part and only talked about the NA's better throttle body.

Log manifolds, imo, are fine for the typical turbo setup. Equal length manifolds are expensive and powergains are minimal (if any) on a car trying to only get 200whp from a 1.6L. Even the spool times will be extremely close.

Already been said... but yah, that's a lot of work!

Any swap is going to require wiring. It's good that it doesn't scare you, but even the seasoned swapper takes a solid week or 2 wiring, and that's after the research! It's no easy task.

Also, make sure to get an ECU, or you will have to go custom (Megasquirt or the like).

I second contacting Dr. Tweak at www.phoenixtuning.com, if anyone can answer questions it's him!
