It's an Automatic FWD with the SOHC 4AC engine that they didn't add the tachometer into it, and I've seen stick shift version with the tachometer in the gauge cluster. Now, are they interchangeable??? Does the automatic comes with the same harness as Manual? THanks.
why they didn't... is because it's AUTO not worth the time and money to put one in all the auto ae86's. I bet the only reason the standards did is because toyota knew people would race those fuckers lol
And that people would be taking those motors way into the red not realizing that vibration they feel is the motor trying to tear itself apart. That's what sucks about rotaries, they vibe the same no matter what RPM your at. Piston motors at least let you know where you are at.

You know this isn't a Mazda message board right?
Where did you get the rotary thing from? This is a 4AC engine....Toyota's never had a rotary.
Auto's wont let themselves go over redline so there isn't a NEED for a tach....you can install an aftermarket one if you want....have fun with it.
he's just saying you can tell by the vibe, but you can tell by the sound after awhile of driving the car. I shift before it starts to vibe!
and in an auto it's retarded to want a tach, the trans won't let you take it into the redline don't worry, you can't control the shift points so don't worry about it.
it's like buying a rear differential for a front wheel drive car. Sure you can shove it on the car but it's not going to do anything
