4AFE and 4AGE 16v trans?

Is it possible to put a 4AGE 16v trans on a 4AFE? and has anyone done it before? is it worth it? I have a running AE92 with a bent frame, and a AE92 GTS with a blown head gasket. I don't wanna bother fixing the head gasket on the 4AGE because the previouse owner took everything apart, but I would like to salvage or reuse parts if I could.

You can do it, but you'll want to get a working 4A-GE after you realize how dreadfully slow it is.

The car will be faster with the C52 in it. Reason, shorter gearing.

The ratios aren't that different. the only big chnge is first gear (much taller in the c52) you notice that the most. And it a straight swap. Everythings the same.

How about vice versa? I thought the trans that came with the 4AGE is much stronger compared to the one that came with the 4AFE

Don't see why they would be any different. They use the same gearset. Infact some 4ages came with the c50 from factory.

My SR5 has the 4af and the C50, and my MR2 had the 4age and the C52... I know two totally different cars, but the MR2 definately had enough of a difference in the gears to notice!
