Headlights Flicker then dead

I am looking for some advice on where to llok next. We have an '03 Corolla, a couple of months ago my daughter was driving home and she told me later the headlights flickered off and then back on. The next day the car was dead, no lights, nothing. I thought it may be a lose battery connection, everything seemed fine. I replaced the battery, car started no problem. About two months went by and then same thing. She was driving the car most of the day, went home, and then about an hour later went out to leave and dead. Jumped the car and took it to have the battery checked, other than low on charge it tested fine. Drove for about an hour and everything is back to normal. I have rechecked as many connections as I can, what else could the problem be?

Your said that the first battery went dead and the new one got drained. Seems that the alternator isn't working. Check connections and also see if it's charging. A car not properly charging would last 2 months like it happened to me a few times in the past.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking at first, but when it was tested it showed it was putting out about 14.4 volts. But this could be the problem, I forgot to mention in the orginal post that both times it happened the temp was in the negative teens, so there was a pretty big draw being put on the system
