wheel spin in neutral...

I was changing my oil today and after I put the new oil in I started the car to circulate the oil and check the level again. My c ar was still up on the jack and I noticed that the front wheels began to spin in neutral. Not fast, maybe 12 RPM's but they moved. Is this normal, and is something I just never noticed before? Could there be a tranny problem?

what car are the changing the oil on?

is it FF or FR?

the vibration of the engine may attribute to the wheels spining

When I have the clutch pushed in it does nothing. However, If I let off the clutch and just leave it in neutral the wheels turn. Almost like the idle speed of an automatic but not nearly as much power is put to the wheels. Any ideas? It's FF of course.

It's normal AE92, don't worry about it. It freaked the hell out of me the first time when I was changing the oil on my car, but then my mechanic explained it to me. It made total sense at the time, but I forgot what his explination was. I think ti was like when the tranny is released, the engine and tranny are still connected, but there's isn't enough power to move a car when it's on the ground, but when it's lifted up they just spin slowly..

It's normal, don't freak out....

Alright, thanks Xenon. By the way, I am going to have to see your car one of these days. Maybe, I'll go to another meet sometime soon again. We should try to get as many AE92's as possible out at one time for pics.
