2003 Corrolla Help

I have owned a Toyota since I have had a Drivers License......which lets just say has only been a little bit. About a year ago, my check engine light came on. I took my car in for a diagnosis, and they said it was an exhaust issue but they couldn't find anything wrong and turned off my engine light. It has not came back on, however, twice in the last 2 weeks, my oil light flashes on quickly but then quickly goes away. This happend one time when I stopped (sorta suddenly ) and the second was when I was going around a curve. Does anyone have any idea why if there was a problem that light didn't stay on? Is there a problem at all?

Thank you, I love my Toyota but I am a fan because I didn't think I would have to deal with mechanical stuff.

When I have seen a Oil Light "flash" then it has been low oil in the pan. (Or wherever the sensor is). I would not ignore that.

As for the Engine Light...I would have taken it to another mechanic to look at it. It could be something simple like your gas cap...but I would demand a solid answer.

Thank you, I made an appointment this morning. My headlight is out again too, so I will have them also look at the flashing oil light. I just thought that they turned off all of my 'dummy lights' when they turned off the engine light. I shouln't be low on oil, but you are right. I have blown a VOLVO engine that way before ( ). Thank you again!

Well what makes me "think" it is low oil is when you said you stopped suddenly and went around a curve. Trust me on this...I am not expert. I have learned the hard way over my 50 years on this planet.

I am a chic so I don't know much about this stuff.....but have you heard of headlights going out a lot on the Corrolla? This will be the third. I drive a lot and the miles are up there, but I have had to replace various lights 3 times. I think I need to repave my driveway, its sorta bumpy, maybe that is it. Thank you again...but describing yourself as 'old' dood at 50??? You are only halfway done!! Thank you agian

Are you saying I am "Half Baked"? HeHe....

On the headlights...I have no idea. I am new to Toyota myself. My only thought is if they are halogen then whomever put them in should make sure they do not "touch" the bulb with their hands or any oil based residue. When I change a halogen I use a brand new surgical glove that my wife brings home from the Hospital.

Half Baked, that was funny!

I heard the same thing about touching the bulb, but you would think 3 different mechanics would know that, if I know that.

You would "think" they would know better. This is why I always take my cars to a local mechanic that I know and trust. Still if that is happening....push it...if you paid for anyone to fix it and it is not fixed...get firm (but nice) and don't let go to you get some answers.

BTW: I don't think of you as a "chick", but a nice lady!
