are completely useless? True? I have heard the only thing thats any good is wideband like the AEM UEGO True?

Yea pretty much dont waste your money on a narrowband guage, they are mainly for looks and give no usefull info.

If you're going to spend money on it, buy a wideband sensor kit like the one from http://wbo2.com/

Unless its just for the rice effect

But, what if i only want to know if the mixture is rich, lean,or just right and nothing else. Plus, I think there should be a sensor installed and don't depend on the factory ECU for its readings.

let me add to this a little, i Have a old ver1 SAFC and want to make sure im not tuning into a dangerous lean condition that will cost $$$

Is even a good quality narrowband like autometer bad?

Right now im not too concerned but later when i drop my Hi-comp 7A-FE in it will need aditional tuning.

Im definately looking for something functional not a rice mod

I thought the gauges would work with either narrow or wideband, but a wideband sensor would make the gauge read more accurately.
