ITB Individual Throttle Bodies, those that R on the silver top I think 45 (size) and the black top 48 (size) 20v motors. What they R doing here in SA u have to custom make the intake manifold so that it fits on the head and inturn the ITB's fit on the mainfold. 20V std manifold won't fit.
My 16 cents worth

Well you need the itb's/manifold you need a aftermarket ecu to get it running properly probably and you also need to make an idle up tank where some tubes go from each stack into a tank where the map sensor is plugged into or that is what I was told when I asked about it on club4ag, it's expensive but it'll sound nice and youll get lots of power if your engine is heavily modified if its not there isn't much use getting them unless you already have a aftermarket ecu or chip and what not.

becuase for an ae92 or aw11 it's complete CRAP.

Besides the fact that T3 quoted me shipping it here in 3 days (while my car was in pieces) which actually took closer to 10 (and the first 3 days they wouldn't even reply to emails or answer their phones or call back...)...

1) you need special cap bolts to bolt it to the motor (which they convieniently forget to tell you)... all they would need to do is mill back about 1/8" on the underside of the plate to make the stock bolts work

2) the water inlet on the back of the head/motor (and the metal lines) don't clear the adapter... ie, it DOESN'T fit (which again, they said it would fit and they had NO clue it didn't)

3) the vacuum ports that are drilled onto the bottom of the adapter.... when you try to bolt it up to the motor, the bolts hit the brass vacuum fittings (you need to remove them... and with the adapter 1/2 bolted to the motor, this is easier said than done....)

4) it mounts the ITB's upside down..... this was done so that the plenum could fit the ae86... however, the plenum doesn't fit the ae92's because of this reason AND the throttle cable ends up below the itb's which is a pita to hook up, especially with a long 4age throttle cable

5) there are no lines or fittings or holes for the brake vacuum line.... he told me that i had to run that off a collector... which is BS since both the ST and BT don't use a collector for that, along with it takes very little vacuum to have brakes (ie, saved up in the check valve)... so, i had to use aditional money of my own to go buy the right size drill & tap and a fitting just to have brakes.....

ALL of this i told to the guy at T3 (tyler)... he barely even thanked me for the comments & the writeup i did for him, he also never offered any sort of refund (partial or anything, or payment for shipping even though it took over 3x longer than was told)... etc...

the only reason i will be using the T3 adapter on my ae92 once i get MS wired up is because:

1) i already paid $250 plus shipping for it
2) i've already modified it and my ae92 to work

pictures:

looks like it fits, but it doesn't

oops, there seems to be a problem

the ghetto approach

more ghettoness (ended up ruining my coolant temp sensor), however does NOT leak whatsoever!

now i finally can bolt it up

wait, no... i lie... because it is at this point (where the adapter FINALLY at least sits against the motor) that i realized i can't physically bolt it up until i die grind the hell out of the bottom of it just to get my bolts to fit....

REDICULOUS

his response was "well, itb's are a high performance mod and probably aren't going to be a direct bolt on thing".... obviously I bought the adapter so that the physical parts could 'just bolt together'... why else would i spend $250 for a piece of metal labeled 'adapter plate'

just an FYI... the 4afe ecu ran the itb setup incredibly rich... car was faster definately... however, it had idle issues as well.

so i put the stock manifold back on (after all that) and am waiting for a better time to do MS

Ive done it a couple of times.
Things you need...
20v adapter plate. from a ae101 or buy 1 from T3 around$250
HIGHLYRECOMMENED a Aftermarket stand alone ecu (FREEDOM or MOTEC)
velocity stacks ( also offered at T3)
mounting hardware (anyautostore or a dealer)
and some patience

Ive done it a few times so personally saying just be patient. Its easy but requires some money and good tuning. The tuning after is a must!! If you need anymore help you can shoot me an email anytime. Im new to this forum but have been an 86 man since highschool (to long to admit haha) but good luck. And alot of peeople will tell you its not worth the time but trust me its wellllll worth it.

how can you say you've done it and to get an ae101 adapter plate? that plate is nowhere near close.... it's closer to a 7afe head than a 16V 4age head....

and megasquirt is quite a good choice on the EMS since you can run it either map or alpha-N
