new headlights burning?

hey all, just a quick question, i got new headlights, complete with the brackets, etc, and everything, my question is, are the headlights suppose to burn for a while to soften the adhesives or something?? or was it something similiar to that?? well, i noticed some smoke coming from inside the headlights and smells like burnt rubber or plastic, so i'm just wandering whats going on here. And if this is so, what are the steps to take? let them burn for a couple minutes then take them out to release the smoke from inside, then let them burn again?? or what? thanks

Well, Rice, that's quite a transition-- waterpump to headlights. Seems like you have something overheating at all times. Personally, I'm starting to wonder if your posts aren't really a joke.

if you have like 100W bulbs in those shitbrand taiwanese housings, meant for 55w bulbs, you can burn the reflector, ruining the lights.

Sorry its taken so long for me to get back to you.

It sounds like you have a wire crossed some where ... are you using the 87a relays? They're key, you cant do it with out them.
The rubber things are burning because you've got too much power going to the low beams (crossed wire) and the bulbs are heating up too much.
Other than this diagram there's not much else I can do to help...

My suggestion is to remove everything and start over fresh. Use my diagram and a 93-97 corolla wiring schematic (I can scan the correct one for you if you need it or you can use a Haynes or Chilton Manual)
I had a lot of trouble like you're having when I first did mine but I didn't have the benefit of a nifty lil diagram like the one I drew up for TN. I prolly did mine over like five times till I realized most Toyota headlight switches have a constant positive and an alternating ground. lol.

As for the corners follow this diy, http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t76852.html

Good luck and let me know if theres anything else I can do.

btw if you can wait a month or two I might be parting out my rolla and I can clip the harness I made and post it F/S
