OE Radio Head -

Hi all,

Ive ben desperatly trying to put back my OE radio cassette back into my 88 corolla CS, I deliberatly cut the connector plug from the wiring harness (I was trying to fit an aftermarket radio) now, I reconected the original connnector to the wiring harness and I connected my OE radio and it doesnt work!?

Any idieas or a dvice to set me on the right path ?

hmmmm.. you could have blown a fuse if the wires touched bare metal.. check the fuses.. remember sometimes there's fuses on the wire itself. if not.. maybe a wire is lose.

thanx for your insight, just wondering about the fuses, i have checked the fuses in the fuse box and they seem to be fine, now i dunno if any of the wires has a fuse in them... being the radio so old i would doubt that....

any further ideas?

My OEM 89 corolla radio has a plug at the back that, if you take it off the connector looks like a cd changer connector (the Kenwood style ones) if you took this plug off, this could be a problem as it acts as a jumper. if your radio didn't have that, then I'm out of ideas.. other than the lose cable or maybe cut-off cable ones.

following up on my previous dilema

Problem solved.

Turns out there was a fuse that had blown in the kick pannel fuse box, I swapt the fuse and now the OE radio works like a charm.

Just thought I let you guys know the outcome in case somebody has/had a similar problem.

Cheers
