89 corolla 275000 miles need help

can some body tell me if the spark plug tube gaskets were broken if car would use a lot of oil. 2 of them are pretty broke been adding a lot of oil within last yr could that cause oil use .89 corolla 275000 miles runs great beside useing oil. ty for any info

oil can only go three places.....

1. internal leak (into coolant)
2. external leak (leaking out of engine through bad gasket or seal)
3. Burning (getting into combustion chamber around piston rings or valve guides)

if you can determine where its going we would be better equipped to help you, my guess is that its probably a compination of #2 and #3 just because of age and mileage

i think your right probbaly age had car 11yrs been a great car nothing fancy mostly driven to and from work sometimes 200 miles or more a day depending on job.replaced sparkplug tube gaskets along with broken timeing belt car runs great will keep eye on oil andkeep adding if nessecary . ty for reply sledge
