Yeah....can't wait to get the Blizzaks off!! Its wass really nice here in Toronto last week (14 C) and I had to make a very quick stop on the 427 (some lady in a Hyundai Elantra was facing the wrong direction...how she got that way, i have no idea) and my XRS was squirming...didn't feel too confident but still managed to stop..no problem.

I'm going to switch at the beginning of April.

hell the snow tires feel about the same as the orginal tires on my car. with those 13" rims, I think the tires are p175/70 r13 not really good for turning the way I do. I have 14"s in the front now so it's alot better Now I can't turn as fast on them but still fast enough

Man I miss living in Toronto...up here we don't even think about taking the snows off the car until May Two-Four (late May)!

In fact, I spend so much time on dirt/gravel roads that I don't even bother with all-seasons anymore. Straight to Mud & Snows for the summer...damn it's cold!

I am planning to put my Michelins back on by mid-April or so. I live in Calgary, AB and have an XRS as well with winters (BF Goodrich Winter Slaloms) on at the moment. I feel exactly the same as you guys with the squishy winter tires. When it comes to straight line or corners, they pretty much s*ck at everything. Although, it feels substantially more comfortable and less torturing over hard bumps than the super stiff ride with the low-profile Michelin summers, I miss the awesome traction upon hard acceleration and lateral support/grip in the corners of the Michelin Primacys.

Oh yeah, waiting to put my Injen CAI on next month as well. Vroom vroom!

Well I was in Barrie last night... And it started snowing. They weren't as bad in the snow as I thought they would be. But not nearly as fun as when I have snow tires. And my x-ices have tonns and tonns of tread left. I just need another sr5 rim and new tire to replace the one I fucked up so I can have all 4 tires the same again

Incase you guys don't know, The mark where all the different types of tires meet is at 7*C I believe I had read before. Summers arn't as grippy below 7*..Winters arn't as good above 7* and all seasons are in the middle of it all. :P

Yep that is right. Calgary seems to be growing through some insane growth right now.

As for Injen, there is a Toyota dealership that just opened up in Northwest called Countryhills boulevard Toyota. They have a motorsports shop right in the dealership called Matrix motorsports. They do all kinds of aftermarket stuff like intakes, exhaust, clutches, flywheels etc. and the good thing is that those are Toyota techs who do it for you. It does not change anything on the warranty issue, but still it is good enough to have Toyota techs doing it and they back their work up. There are a few motorsports shops like speedtech (www.speedtech.com), but I would much rather prefer the Toyota dealership one.

As for concerns of hydrolocking in rain with intake, well I have heard you will not have any problems unless you drive in a puddle of water that is about 3 feet deep. It does not rain that much here either. Just to be on the safe side, they sell a filter by pass for $50 that pretty much eliminates any risk of hydrolocking since it by passes all the water through the filter and prevents it from going into the cylinders.
