Tricky problem with a 93 dx

its a 93 1.6l automatic and it died the other day. when u put the key in it doesnt even turn over, it needs to be connected to another cars batterie to turn over, and then most of the time it runs fine. but after u turn it off it wont turn on and none of the electrics will work. heres the weird part about it.. i had a guycome over to look at it the other day, he said he thought it was something wrong with my alarm system. i told him he was mistaken, i told him there is no alarm in my car. i ran inside for a bit and when i came back out i heard a car alarm goin off. turns out i do have a car alarm it just shorted and was disconnected by a previous owner. tho the guy didnt tell me how to fix it and i didnt even see how he triggered the alarm. i was wondering if anyone has any insight to what the hell could be going on here

Start with the basics.

Is the battery good?

Are the connections clean and tight?

You can get a battery terminal cleaner (wire brush dealie) for under 5 dollars. Take off the terminals, and run the cleaner on the battery post and on the terminals on the cables. Put it back together and give it a whirl.

maybe take the battery and have it tested, sounds like it could be part of it.

as for the alarm if its just a regular run of the mill alarm it will be spliced into 6-10 wires and it will have a starter interlock hooked across one cut wire. Find the brain of it then trace all the wires back to there origin disconnecting them one at a time when you get to the wire that is cut and connections on both ends rejoin the cars side if it (provided the colours are the same!)
