88 gorolla gts died

I was leaving work and drove my car across the railroad track and it died out a little.I then made a right turn and it went completely dead.I pulled into a parking lot and looked under the hood and seen where the metal bracket that goes across the battery had it the pos+ side of the battery.I checked all the fuses, the ones on the battery cable, fender wall and kick panel. It will turn over and crank and will act like it will want to start for a millisecond and then die.The radio will not work ,heater fan runs real slow and power windows will work just real real slow.My radar detector will not work and its plugged into my lighter.I checked all fuses like i said.I put a brand new battery, new plugs. The starter spins over good, like I said till its fires for a second and dies. i did a code test and its giving me 12,13,51.Any help will be really apprciated. Thanks

BTW its getting gas cause i can smell it.That why i changed the plugs just in case it fouled them fro turning over so much.

you might wanna calm down and re-write your post.. I couldn't understand anything.

The metal bracket that goes accross had the + side of the battery touching it? You might have killed the battery if that's the case.

if you shorted the battery you may have burned up the ground cables to the engine and chassis. If you wanna test this take a pair of jumper cables hook both clamps on one end to the negative battery terminal, now hook one on the far end to the engine and one to the chassis now try things and see how they work!

now if this works get some 4ga and reground the engine and the chassis to the battery

Yea it's difficult to learn about problems when all we have a little electrical problems exhaust leaks and other minor problems. Hondas on the other hand I always see broke down, hondas are like the ford's of the import world.

Have you checked your fuse box? maybe the main fuse blew..or there is something grounding the whole car.
