'95 Corolla - Losing Oil

I love my little corolla, but am losing oil quickly. In the last two years I have put about 40,000 on it and now have around 157,000. I am now losing about a quart of oil every 200 miles. There is no oil after sitting nor is there oil on the engine when you look under it. I haven't seen any smoke from the exhaust. Where is it going? And how do I fix it?

Sounds like something that used to happen to my car not that long ago.
Only my car doesn't do it anymore

what to check

check under your valve cover, im pretty sure the 95 has sparkplug tube gaskets inside the valve cover they keep oil from seeping in to the spark plugs. thier should be one for each plug. they can be removed and replaced very easy. i have a 89 corolla 1.6 motor 275000 miles that was doing the same thing no sign of oil leaking it would only smoke on startup changed the timing belt and noticed the cracked gaskets letting oil get on plugs and burn off check it out it will probally take care of your problem for under 20 dollars take care sledge

Same issue with my 94 Auto Corolla 1.6L Special edition.

Dont quite know where the "oil control rings" go, I'll check Napa for the part. Any other places that sell oil control rings in Toronto?

It burns more than a quart a week. It otherwise runs fine.

in order to replace the rings your pulling the entire engine apart down to the pistons as the rings seal the piston to the cylinder

How expensive are we talking? Not including labor, thankfully my dad will be taking care of that.

i would do what sledge said first... check your valve cover gasket and see if that solves your problem first... that is a relatively cheap and easy fix... if that does not solve your problem then check into the internals of your engine... it is better to go cheap first then get into the more expensive steps...

if u pull the entire engine to find out it is not your o-rings, u will be kicking urself if it was only a 35$ valve cover gasket that needed to be replaced... my .02
