AE86 Coupe wing and w/ or w/o trunk piece

Hey guys, I finally tracked down a real OEM Coupe wing, and I've also got the trunk piece that sits between the tail lights lying around...so I was wondering what you guys thought about it? It's been a year and I still can't decide if I want to mount it or not (the trim piece, not the wing)

Don't mount the centre garnish Migs, it shows off the zenki taillights better without it. Plus, that centre piece is a potential rust magnet with the water that can collect underneath it.

agree on the rust part, its just like the plastic strip on the 1986-1987 fenders

BUT i think the middle piece only looks good if your car is two-tone, with black on the bottom, it kinda balances out the rear end

but if your car is only one colour, having a black piece on the back looks kind of weird

i have that piece between the lights too, and i'm thinking of taking it off when the car gets repainted

no no no, there's zero rust potential if you actually install it with proper mounting hardware and regularly clean your car, and it's nothing like the fender liners on the kouki models. Those rust because they're 15+ friggin' years old! hahaha

i see..

but isn't it better still to not have the plastic strip? because they're mounted by the rivets underneath, and the holes there.... :o

i thought the trunk plastic piece was just tacked on with super duty double sided type like the side mouldings.. the only reason why the fenders on 86 and up models is because of the fender cladding mounting bolts and threads. you don't see the insides of the side mouldings rot out like the fender cladding does (like rarely)
