88 mr2 engine swap in 95 corolla

hey everyone. does anyone know if the 88 mr2 4-age engine would fit without having to do O2 sensor adjustments or any major adustments? another question....what would be a clean swap into my 95 corolla to increase HP and easier to modify? THANKS!

going with a 20V 4AGE would be a better swap, and yeah ANY motor you swap you would have to perform major adjustments as not all motors run the same way. You would still need the ECU, harness and all components that pertain to that certain motor. It's only a straight swap when you swap your motor for the same motor but in better condition.

an answer to my question would be nice im not sure if the corolla you have has a 1zz or a 4a style engine in it if it has a 4a style then get the 4age or 4agze if it has a 1zz then get the 2zz-ge or you can just put a 2zz-ge in it more power for you any ways 180 vs the 4agze like 150

94 Corollas came with A series motors. The zz series engines are NOT straight swaps. Can't reuse your tranny, axles, etc IIRC. The 4AGE or 4AGZE motor can be dropped right into the 94 corolla.

Also, when comparing motors, you really should look at more than just their HP numbers. The 4AGZE will actually be MORE driveable around town. The low end torque of the 2zzge is purely suck a$$. A 2zzge swap will cost MORE than 4agze. Very minor mods to a 4AGZE motor will produce 200hp with the torque that 2zzge owners could only dream of.

As for dropping the MR2 motor, I hope you know someone that can help you with smog because it won't be a legal swap. Going from Newer motor -> Older motor in Cali = No No.

You of all people should know the 95 Corolla is still an A series based motor (AE101/102).. therefore what motor would make more sense?

98 and up were ZZ series based motors, yes they are very similar and it is possible but I believe the motor mounts don't match up properly.

And if I was you guys.. I would hit the 4AGZE.. just ask Aaron (4AaronGE) how much he likes his GZE powered AE101 Sedan.

I wouldnt even bother putting a old beat up MR-2 4A-GE into a 95 corolla, when you could get more from the current 4A-FE/7A-FE with a little research and development.... I'd go with an AE101 LEVIN 4A-GZE and call it a day.
