My check engine light turned on today. Does anyone know how to check what the problem is w/o going to a mechanic? Should I still be driving it? :cry:

could be anything.. just wait till you start getting some Signs as to what is gonna give you problems.

When I had my check engine light come on, it was the sensor on the exhaust down pipe.. If you have the manual, you can hook up the diagnosis plugs as shown in the manual and the check engine light will flash and give you a code of what the problem is.. If you don't have the manual, I'll be happy to help you with it, I have an 89 SR5 manual but the diagnosis plug is exactly the same...
