Ordered a 2006 LE..Still not being built!

I ordered this Corolla LE with some options that were not on any cars in allot of Dealerships. So they have to built it. I actually ended up ordering it a month ago...it still has not been started. No Vin Number....means I can't get financing or insurance locked in.

They tell me at Spartan Toyota in Lansing, Mi. that it is now on Special Order. I do not get this. I only ordered what are Toyota's options. Now it is a "Special Order"? Any ideas why this is happening. I was really hoping to have this car by now.

What I ordered was the JBL Sound, Moon/Sunroof, Side Airbags, Vehicle Stability control, Vehicle Security system, Cruise, Traction Control, Alum Wheels, Sunroof Deflector, Anti Lock Brakes, Stone grey cloth (Leather was NOT avalible...dunno why), Preferred Accessory Package, Door sills.

I can't understand why this is so hard to build. They tell me at Spartan Toyota that NO one wants what I ordered. I would think in a Climate like Michigan to have Vehicle Stability, Traction control, and Anti Lock brakes would be very much wanted. I really believe they tell me this so I will upgrade to a Camry...they mentioned this a few times that I can easily get these options on a Camry....I don't want a Camry...I want the most MPG I can get...and that is a Corolla.

Any Ideas?

I would think ordering of a car slows down production.

True...but after humans building Cars for over 100 years they would have some kind of knowledge on building one fairly fast....at least let me know WHEN it will be started.

holy shit... when you order a burger at McD's or whatever, unless there's one in there that has all the stuff you want it with, they HAVE to make it from scratch don't they. You think they would have come up with a better way to make your burger by now.. like telepathy or something. it ain't a magic wand dude.. your car won't be ready in second.

Yes I understnd all that...my point is they will not even give out a TIME in which it will be started. They CASHED my check with in hours...thay have the Timing on that down pat. To me it is total B.S. to have options on their website and at the dealerships...then come back and tell me it is "Special Order". Or try to get me to buy something else...to me that is Bait & Switch.

It is better that your car is being built at the factory. Look at this way no young lot boys driving your new Corolla from anouther dealership. Working for a Toyota dealership i have seen corollas that have taken up to 6 weeks to be built and it was a car with options as yours. Is your Corolla coming from TMMC or NUMMI
