What engine do i have??

Im not all that sure as to what engine i have so i was hopping you guys could clarify it for me.

The head is silver and it says 4A-K75 on it (yellow sticker), the firewall says 4A-LC 1.6L and the block just says 4A on it, which one is correct or are they all just saying the same thing...

but according to the vin and various sites i've seen that tell you what the vin mean say that the engine is an 4A-GE, here is the vin if anyone can decypher it

JT2AE82E2G3282978

its a AE82 if that helps...

thx

4ALC is the typical carb motor found in AE82s. The 4AGE was only found in the performance models of the AE82.

You answered your own question when you read 4A-LC on the firewall, if it was a 4AGE, the Timing belt cover would read 4AGE

This is a 4AGE:

That's of course if you're serious about it.. not too many people want to mod a 65hp motor just to gain 10-20hp. You might be better off swapping.

AFAIK all 4A blocks are the same. if you're swapping a 4A-G with carbs it'll be easier for you rather than going EFI.

so a 4A-G has a carb and a 4A-GE is EFI?... if i get the 4A-G can i just swap the head?? or do i need to swap some internals

also at the auto wrecker near by, it has a '88 Celica GT and a '88 Corolla DX do according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_...281986-1989.29 and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_...ies_-_May_1987 respectfully they say that they
are 16v DOHC (american models) is this correct? and how would i tell if its a big port or small port?

ALL 4A-GEs are EFI. however you can take the EFI system and run dual carbs with an aftermarket intake manifold, like the picture below. less electronics but require a lot of manual tuning.
