help!

i have an 88 corolla gts and it had been sitting for about 10 years before i got ahold of it. I am trying to get it legal so that i can get it on the road. I got all of the taillight break light and blinkers and backup lights because all the old ones were missing. when i put the lights in the break lights stay on all of the time and will not go off unless i unhook the battery. the blinkers and reverse lights work fine. What could be the problem??? please help! THANKS!

sounds like the brake light switch under the dash is shorted, try unhooking the switch if they go off you found your problem!

To find the switch follow the pedal up under the dash and it should be either behind or infront of the pedals shaft thing up by the pivot
