i have an 88 gts and there is a wire on the left side of the engine(if you are at the front of the car looking in) that has a peice of metal bent in a u shape and stuck in it like in the positive and negative sides of the wire.. when you pull out this metal peice my car idols lower but other than that it doesent change anything. does anyone know what this is???
wow just to let you know im not a fuckin idiot. i have been working on this car on and off for months it was sitting for 11 years and runs perfect now im not stupid i know a fair amout about cars expecially this car. its not that throttle it has nothing to do with it. I was thinking it is the MAF but its on the other side than the air box.......... its nothing incredibly important because i could rip the wire out of the car and it would still run, it would just idol down about 200rpms

If your not an idiot, then why do you pull stuff off first, and then ask questions second??
yeah man from your description it sounded like a throttle cable and i dont mean to offend you but you never know with people on these forums. there was one guy who wanted to do an engine swap and didnt know what an ecu did
i checked around my engine i didnt see any thing that looked like it and if i did it went into another wire look for that or it could be part of the whole wiring harness...eek that would be bad
