you'll most defintely blow your stock speakers. Theyre puny and i'm guessing their 15W (MAX), because the rear speakers are also 15W. I've been thinking of speaker upgrades myself on the 1996 DX--not really sure though, as the fronts are only 4"--nothing you can put in would really help it, maybe just using it as tweeters.

nothing?? LOL! I have JL Audio Evolution 4" speakers on the front of my 90 GTS and let me tell you they handle the Eclipse HU pretty decent.

ive got a set of 4" alpine type s's in the front of mine not bad they were a really good price but the system is very unbalanced im thinking of getting some 5x7" components to stick up front and have some coaxial ones in the back (custom work). if you got a new head unit you should upgrade the factory speakers at least to some factory replacements to get the full potential out of your new headunit

Might wanna consider using 5.25" or 6.5" just make MDF or plywood adapters but yeah the stock speakers cant take much any amount of bass and there toast

The purpose of it is to get some bass...
And I don't have money for Subwoofers+Amp, so I was just thinking to get the tweeters...I know that they don't provide as much bass as subs but it's better then the Stock...
So What should I do ???
Should I buy some 4's to Front and 6-1/2's as tweeters ???

Rears are 15W, but I'm not sure if thats RMS or max.

Fronts aren't more than that.

Remember, your 4x50W headunit is rarely putting more than 20 watts to each speaker. Still I doubt that the stock speakers will last long.

the purpose is to get some bass???? out of the front speakers???? dude!! that's what the rears are for! keep the bass on the rear and the highs/mids on the front for a balanced system. I'd say go with a nice set of 4" on the front and 5.25 or 6" speakers on the rear for mids/bass.

I run 5.25" Power Acoustiks on the back.. so far not too bad. I just couldn't get the 5.25 JL Audio's to fit the OEM speaker covers from the GTS, the Power Acoustiks fit the cover pretty much perfectly. Everyone with a GTS knows what I'm talking about.. damn rear speakers with the clip on covers built in.

I have 4" Infinitys up front and 6.5 Infinitys in the rear. I run the 4"s up front with bass blockers to prevent low frequencies. It's pretty nice cause I can run full bass on the rear and not worry about the fronts getting damaged. However, it's true that the setup is a bit unbalanced: not enough bass sitting in the front when you want the music loud, and if you turn the bass up people in the rear get way too much bass and it hurts your head.

Also I wouldn't recommend putting Infinity speakers in doors. Infinitys have two wires going to the tweeter and two to the woofer, even though they are coaxial. When people slammed the doors on my car the connection with the tweeter broke, then fixed itself, then broke again. Maybe they fixed this flimsiness with the new Infinitys and their sound quality is great, but I wouldn't put them in the doors if they get slammed a lot.
