Question Horn Problems?

I have a 1998 corolla, we bought it used and ever since we bought it the horn hasn't worked. I've changed the fuse to see if that was the problem and that didn't do anything. Also we had a mechanic put in some new part into the steering column which two mechanics thought that was the problem but that didn't help either. Both of them assumed there was some problem with the horn shorting out before it reached it or something like that. So if anyone has any suggestion that would be greatly apprecaited. Also me and my brothers are pretty sure the horn did go off once, when I was walking out from wendys my brothers just turning the car on but not all the way. The horn went off but no one was touching it, it was very weird and we do not understand it.

Thanks.

did they ever try to see if the horn itself was burt out?? either that or the wires have a short before they reach the horn. Find the horn, follow the wires and check to see if they're cut off somewhere. If not it could be the horn that died.

Well idk they said they checked the horn and said nothing was wrong with it, but I'm really a lil sketchy about that part, also I'm having a hard time finding the horn. My grandpa, my dad, and my brothers can't seem to find the damn thing.

Also I get bad signals when I listen to my radio, could it be that there is something really messed up with my wires in there.

Should be right above your radiator between the radiator and the grill...You also have a horn relay in your fuse box...might be bad...Radd~

My bad with the double post thing I hit the button twice or something, and then I was trying to delete it.

I have an 03 but it shouldn't be that much different ....Make sure your fuses are in the right slot I replaced my horn fuse and put it into a "dead" slot...(lol too many beers) I couldn't figure out why my horn didn't work, I pulled the horn relay and even took the horn off and remounted it before my wife, looking at the fuse diagram found I had the fuse in the WRONG slot...lol...how humiliating, but the relay did come out...You never said if you found your horn...lol...would be funny if you didn't have one

Unplug your horn from the harness and run a wire from the horn direct to the battery. If the horn blows, it's good. Plug it back in. When you push the horn button, you should hear the relay click. If it clicks the relay is good. If it doesn't click, you either have a bad horn contact in the steering wheel, or a bad wire somewhere, or a bad relay.
