17" rims for 2004 Corolla S

hi everybody,

i m researching a new 17" rims for my 2004 Corolla S. i find that there are couple size such as 17x7, 17x7.5, 17x8. is there anyone can tell me whts the meaning of the 7, 7.5, 8?

also, i m still not sure about the offset of my car even though i check out the manual book. can anyone tell me the offset of my car. i m pretty sure is positive, but just dunno how many mm that is...

by the way, i tend to put on 215/45/17 tires on the new rims, wht other things that i m should pay attention on when select the rims? finally, can u guys suggest me the anywhere that i can get a good deal?? i m welcome to hear more other opinions...

thx a lot!!

17X????? the question marks mean the rim width

The site below explains offset and more

http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp?type=wheels#offset

You can find the number for offset mm and more by searching for wheels specific to your vehicle.

You can search (tirerack) also.

Another site you can check out is (9 th gen corolla . com) no spaces
They have a forum for tire and wheels specific to your corolla.

Hope this points you in the right direction for your rims

Also on 9th gen they have local forums for Northern and Southern California maybe somebody could point you toward a local tire shop for a good deal.
