I'm woking on a 1990 corolla DX
4dr/at/ps/ac/pb.
208,000 miles.
the book says it has an a4GE motor and the local toyota dealership agrees when i give them the vin. (2T1AE94A0LC055846)
From what I've seen so far this is an a4
Fe motor. It has dual cams but only one cam works off of the timing belt and the other works off the gears from the first cam.
The a4Ge shows two external cam-gears ... one on each cam with the timing belt going around -both- cam gears.... as oposed to the belt only going around one gear in my case...
Did someone swap out motors at some point?? or am i totally wrong on this?
