rear 6x9 speaker removal in 03 corolla

im having a really hard time removing the back panel of my corolla. i can get it popped up but part of the panel goes into the upper interrior wall. i tried to take it off but it sounded like i was literrally just ripping it off instead of it popping off. if anyone can help i would really appreciate it.

This is from memory so may be a bit off. You will have to remove those side panels above the rear deck. They do pop off and pull forward. I think there are 5 of those push-in body clips holding them in place. You will have to use a good amount of force to get those panels off and they are just about as tough to get back on. Forgot to mention you will need to pull the rubber door seal out of the way to get the side panels off.

And don't forget to disconnect the rear brake light. there is a connector toward the front just underneath the rear deck panel.
