hey all,
i was just looking on the net, and just wondering firstly, would an electric supercharger work on a carby engine? secondly would it be worth it?
1st of all, owning a car doesn't make anybody an ASE mechanic. Nor does it improve your mental ability, BUT...
1. Ebay power chips do NOT work.
2. Don't waste your money on a BS marketing concept known as a "electric supercharger".
If you don't know much about supercharging, go to google and search on superchargers. I own a 89 Thunderbird SC, it is supercharged. Perhaps you don't need that 'rolla if you are looking for power like that?

its possible but the batt will hate you from the current draw....
Heres a funny story..!!! (it was a long time ago and i was bored lol
had a 1.2 viva vaxhall..eg hb torana in aussie and got a free heater system for an escort..
i mod the heater fan and put a sock filter on the front and channeld it to the carby!!
hooked up a swicth so it would come on under full load eg flat out......
it gave me a bit better pick up at low rpm but f/a for the effort!
yer it was a dumb ideal but it killed some time .....no your an idiot responsers thanks!
An electric charger was fitted to a wrx suby ...no power increase but it did help with throttle reponse....again not worth the cash..........
I put one on my car ...4afe... it added about 10 hp.... but at higher RPm it didn't seem to at much.... you can get one and put gears on it like i am doing for some fun.. if you guys want to see a realy one with real results head over here....... http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0406tur_knight/
