Interior Neon Lights Help

I am planning on adding neon interior lights for under the dash and rear floor mats. I have an '01 Rolla. The car has automatic DRL's (which automatically turns on the dash/panel/guages lights when dark out). Connecting the wires to a toggle switch is not a problem.

What I would like to do:
A. When my interior dash/guage lights turn on at dusk/night I would like the neons to turn on automatically as well. (this prevents the noens from being on during daytime)
B. Also have a toggle switch which would be in the default ON postion for part A to work.
C. But also I would like to use the toggle switch so i can manually overide the neons turning on at night once in a while. (if for whatever reason i dont want them on at the time).

Is this possible? Detailed directions/help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I don't know much about the logics of electronics
But here's a simple logic

Wire a switch to your automatic module
SWITCH ON - Neon's on when your Automatic module is on
SWITCH OFF - Neon's off when your Automatic Module is off

In a way, you don't have to worry about it going on in the day time, but you can turn off neon's at night.

neons? do you mean blacklights?
I did that to my excel except no auto on.
I wired the lights to a switch. The switch was wired to the lighter wires.
A friend (electrical engineer) helped out. I used those mats clear mats with the purple tint from Canadian Tire (or Walmart). They work well. If I had a digicam I'd show y'all.

Wiring to a switch is not a problem. But how to I set them up to automatically turn on/off with the interior dash lights with the automatically module my car has?

Thanks

Find your headlight wire under the steering column or just take a wire from the fuse box under you hood and install a switch on that wire (that's your positive) and take a ground from anywhere in the car.. That way if your headlight is on and your switch is in the on position, your lights will come on. If you turn your switch off, your neon lights will turn off.. Make sure you put a fuse close to were to tap into the wire under the steering or close to the fuse box under the hood..

Good luck
