T50

1986 Unknown milage Used T50 for $350 in Cookstown Auto.

What's the nominal rate for one these days?
Anyone got one that's in working order (ex: no grinage, no unable to get in gear etc.. etc..) lying around? My tranny is RELLY hard to get into first gear without double clutching on a roll.

Thanks

Arthur

Sounds like the synchro wheel for the 1st gear is kaput... you could ask how much replacing just that part would cost.

I will try changing the tranny oil this weekend then.

Jerry drove it in November, he had to double clutch to get in first.
However, his coupe doesn't require such technique.

i got a very similar problem with you but it is with my 2 nd gear, my mechanic told me i might be the linkage problem due to the age of my car. I could be clutch or transmission too, but he told me the transmission is not that easy to get problems. I just sent mine to replace clutch, i hope the problem will solve. I hope yours will be solved too.. GOOD LUCK

Yup I coulden't gear down into 1rst in both AE86's till the car was at a complete stop. I think the car is suposed to be like that.

mine won't go into reverse sometimes, but I think that's my clutch though.. i have felt it slip when I downshift from 5th to 4th to pass cars on the highway, and when I gun it from 1st to 2nd too.

Well, it might not be the clutch. next time this happens, shift to 1st and then to reverse, should pop in like a charm. The thing is you're actually moving the sprocket when you to to reverse and that sprocket has straight cut teeth, so its hard to get it in sometimes.
