anchorage points

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 1990 Corolla Hatchback has child restraint anchorage points, and if so where they are????? I've been searching for them, but I really have no idea what I am looking for, or where to look for it.

I anyone can tell me where to find them I would be extremely greatful!!

Thankyou!

if youre talking about LATCH, no i dont think it was out then. i doubt it has dedicated child-seat anchors. just use the seatbelts to anchor the seat.. anchors are just a standardization and make it a little easier. the seatbelt works just fine if you put it thhrough the seat properly

dont know for sure look for some empty nuts in the floor at the back of the trunk you may need to get the actual anchor, (any auto parts store)

If you still can't find the anchor point then go to the local dealer they should be able to show you where it goes, or look in the cars manual!

My moms old 85 tercel had one so im sure its there!

I just installed the anchor bolt to my '96 Corolla and it was quite easy. See the link below for an explanation for a '95. I purchased the exact part number that was listed, even though the dealer said it was not listed to work in a '96. He also had no idea what I was asking for! I would have been out of luck without the part number listed on this website. Anyway, I think the anchor point is completely different in any hatchback, though I have not seen a '90 Corolla hatchback before. Also, I understand that the auto makers started putting the anchor points in once the discussion of latch was started, but not yet required (in '01 or '02s). I think 1990 was way way before that so Toyota may not have even put a place for you to install the bolt.

If you only have one car seat to install, I would go for the middle of the back seat. The lap belt is very easy for installation. If you have two, you can use the shoulder belt with a special clip that should come with the seat you purchased.

LATCH anchors are nice, but we got by without them for a couple years until we upgraded vehicles recently.

Thankyou for your help everyone!

I think I'll have to get one installed.
All the rear facing infant seats seem to need some kind of anchorage.
