Transmission flush?

Do i really need a transmission flush at 30K miles? Or Drain and Fill should be sufficient? Any thought?

Lol I dont know anyone thats even changed their tranny fluid since they got their cars, and they work perfectly, mine included and that has almost 83 000 miles on it. But I'm getting mine done soon, probably not a flush though. It's good to change the fluid every 5 oil changes, that is a good way to go

I would think a flush every 50k miles would be fine. It's pretty cheap insurance versus a transmission replacement.

What does the Owner's manual recommend?

Most of these cars have a drain plug for the transmission. I would figure pulling the plug, draining, and refilling every 30K would keep most gremlins at bay. For severe use, like towing or pizza delivery, a tranny cooler would be a very wise investment. Synthetic ATF will also help.

ummm... there's no "besides" dude.. your 4th gear is gone from riding on it all the time. That's like my 5th gear on my 89 GTS, I drove highway for like 3yrs in a row, so the 5th gear synchro went.
