Levin front end

If the 4a-gze swap is done in an ae102 '97 dx, is the levin front end neccessary, or will the original fit? And did the 20V ever come in a fwd set up or was it only in the mr2's? thanks in advance!

Okay you need to do some research.

1. what do you mean Front end?? what would you be swaping motor only or motor/box?

2. The 20v only came out in FWD never in the mr2 and never in RWD (thats from factory)

NO you don't need to swap front ends.. LOL not sure why you would think that.. The engine bay is still the same regardless of what the outside looks like.

The 20V motors "NEVER" came in the MR2s, they ONLY came in the AE101/AE111 Corollas therefore they ONLY came in FWD setups. Again.. not sure what gave you that Idea.

The MR2's are practically a FWD setup anyway. They are an east-west motor driving a gb and inbuilt dif. This is why you can put the 20v's in there, and also why they came standard with a 4A-GTE in the GT models. Same engine, just behind the driver, instead of in front.

The what now??? There has never been a turbo A series motor from factory. NEVER.

There was a supercharged A series motor, 4agze that was in the aw11 mr2. And there was a turbo MR2 but that use the 3sgte (sw20).

mmmmmm 20v 4A-GTE. that would be tasty, ooooo, or maybe one of those 4A-GZTEs

for those who dont get it - 4a is the bottom end, -G refers to head style and TE is turbo EFI and ZE is supercharged EFI. if you get a chance look up some of the twincharged 4As, theyre complicated and mostly unfinished, but very awesome when they work

Actually.. There WAS a 4A-GTE from the factory. There was a GT Model MR2 - I almost bought one. That and the AE86's over here came with an option of Turbo from the factory...

No, there has never been an A series turbo from factory. And no AE86's didn't have a turbo as an option. (not from toyota anyway)
