Well the problem is that I can't find any reason that there are so much negative posts in here towards newbies, than say the camry board. And we got just as much (if not more) newbies in there compare to here.

The best I can relate to is the cartoon, and most likely I'm wrong and that's not the cause of the problem.

So all I'm saying is that it's not the newbie's fault to ask stupid questions.

And just like Columbine incident, do you see people blaming the kids at fault or the government?

well, theres really two categories: newbies, and retarded newbies

newbies are the new joiners asking reasonable questions, because maybe they don't have as cyril said, the space to perform work, or maybe they don't have that car yet, or maybe no info books, etc

retarded newbies are the ones who get flamed all the time, because they're just day dreaming and really not making an effort to absorb knowledge, or any info at all. Theres tons of examples, in the classifieds, or threads like this. I could've sworn a similar thread such as this was ANSWERED about a week ago, and look the same thing comes up again.

I flame all the time verbally when i come across some threads, or some ppl sending me these threads when i'm already stressed , but i don't post because it really serves no purpose, other then upsetting everyone's mood, besides its not like the retard will transform or anything

i understand everyones frustrations when ppl are just too lazy to do the work themselves, because it doesn't just happen in the Corolla community, trust me. I am not watching over the 'car scene' so i don't know where this is going, but from what i see everyday, ppl ARE ignorant, ppl follow the 'big group', and what really pisses me off the most is when they just can't read the damn instructions, when the resource is right under their nose, or they could've did some 30second research instead of bugging someone else for 10 minutes asking for help.

BUT hey, why the frown? I've learn to just either IGNORE these people, or if i'm feeling nice and jolly i'll direct them to the info, and teach them to use that method, because you save so much time from flaming and posting and reading responces ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

like that chinese phrase, :" You give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day. You teach a man to fish, and you'll feed him for life." ...or something like that

dinner time woo!

the point is, the retarded posts are killing the forum, not the newbies, not the heads, not the people that flame.

elegant: you say ignore the stupid questions. well thats exactly how this discussion came to fruition. both migs and my brother openly agreed with each other that there's no use posting here anymore because of all the retarded questions and posts.

however, its that same attitude (call it a diaspora of heads) that you guys hold with disdain and condemn. so what are we to do?

i think i speak for most of the heads in general when i say that we use forums as a source of information for upkeeping and tuning our cars. discussing the difference between zenki and kouki a million times over and dreaming about a tofu delivery car just doesn't quite tickle our fancy. and perhaps that is why, NONE of the ae86 heads really post on here and when they do, its just talking sh!t. because in all honesty, if i were to ask "whats the valve-install height on the big port head?" or " how do i shim the oil pump?" how many people would be able to answer that?

there's contempt within this forum because its SERIOUSLY lacking content. the same tired questions get asked, the same lame tofu jokes are cracked and the musing of a FA 4age are worn out.

the fact that stupid questions are coming from newbies is incidental...becasue there's been a million and one posts from veteran members that deserve to be in the stupid bin.

i hate to say it, but frequenting here has become a big waste of time for many of the ae86 guys and you just witnessed what happens when the calibre of content is not maintained.

cheers

nick
