4agze!!, but i guess you were talking about the n/a ones.

On stock internals?? If yes you could only use a bigport motor. the compression is too high in all the others.

That is WRONG you can turbo charge a stock REDTOP SMALLPORT STOCK EVERYTHING EXCEPT INJECTORS youd just need everthing for the turbo setup other than that stock everything you could run 10 psi on a redtop.

You can turbo all of them, but he said 15+ psi.

turbo! not gz......internals and everything does not have to be stock, everything can be upgraded, im just asking if the 20v is better to boost to make that 250 whp or the 16v will respond better to the boost, something like that......the reason i say 15 psi is because that's probably gonna be around how much boost you're gonna need to get the 4age to around the 250 whp mark, maybe not exactly 15, but around there, and bigger turbo = lag, so a lil more boost in a smaller turbo ftw?

"I put down 260/215 @ 15psi on a partial tune." Is what a guy in my city said to me after I pmed him, I beleive he has a 16v and it is in a AE86, that is 260 WHP btw I beleive. I'll ask him what motor exactly he is using if I make it to the meet or Ill PM him agian... It's probably a 4AGZE motor but I know he has quite a bit of mods to the ignition and he might have a stand alone?
so yea with 15 psi anyways your looking at around 250hp.

Also higher compression and less boost means less lag I'm not sure what this does for power though.

since you said the internals can get upgraded, here's the BEST turbo set-up IMO to go 250whp...

- 20V BT head including ITBs
- 2nd Gen 20V ST bottom end or 16V GZE bottom end (whatever is cheaper)
- Arias 20V turbo pistons
- 3SGTE injectors
- MegaSquirt ECU

well this guy says updating internals is ok. so the 4af could be a mean ass motor. port and polish the head to increase the flow . Better intake on it. If you stick with a carb there are other options.
