1998 Transmission Swap

I was looking to swapping a manual tranny in for my auto, because better gas mileage, i can get the most out of my car and yada yada. But anyways, I went to a junkyard near my house, and the guy had four corolla manual transmissions. He said it was going to be 450 dollars. So if i was to buy it, what am I'm going to be having to do to get this in my car, and does anyone know the price range its going to take if after that the fact if I did by the tranny.

Thanks

its not as easy as just dropping in a manual trans, stuff you'll need:

-flywheel
-clutch
-shifter
-shifter cables
-clutch pedal
-clutch master
-clutch slave
-clutch plumbing
-the ECU is different
-the wiring is different
-I know im missing other stuff!!!!!

With the 93-97's its well known that it is significantly more expensive to convert to manual and its better to just to sell the auto and buy a manual!

Yea its different but you don't need to change it, just wire the park loop closed (auto only start in park)

Well said, that's true with almost every car.
